How do I become an AHIMA member?
- Select your membership type.
- Log in to your MyAHIMA account.
- In the Membership section, select Join Now.
- You’ll be directed to the AHIMA Store/Membership Center where you can select a membership and complete your application to become a member.
Are there guidelines for AHIMA members?
AHIMA members share a common interest in the AHIMA purpose and are willing to abide by the Code of Ethics.
Also, for your reference, the following are the governing policies surrounding our Membership programs:
- If a customer doesn’t pay membership dues for both years of their two-year recertification cycle, they are required to pay the non-member recertification fee. This also applies to any individuals whose membership expired prior to September 30th.
- All AHIMA dues are not refundable and membership is not transferable.

Membership status is available online 24 hours/7 days a week. Log in to your MyAHIMA account to view your current membership status.
What are Member Coupon Rewards?
Member Coupon Rewards are annual redemption codes provided to eligible AHIMA members upon joining or renewing membership. These rewards are included in membership.
Professional Premier members receive 8 Member Coupon Rewards per membership year.
Professional and Professional Global members receive 5 Member Coupon Rewards per membership year.
Member Coupon Rewards can be used toward eligible single CEU products in the AHIMA Store. They expire on the membership expiration date, do not roll over if unused, cannot be combined with other promotional offers, and only 1 coupon can be used per transaction. Coupon rewards are non-refundable, and any unused value is forfeited if applied to a product of lesser value.
How do I redeem my Member Coupon Rewards?
Follow these simple steps to access your coupon rewards:
- Sign in to your account on the MyAHIMA Hub.
- Click on the My Profile tile.
- Locate the Member Information tab on the left.
- Scroll down to view the number of Member Coupon Rewards available to you and your redemption code.
- Go to the Webinars and Quizzes page and choose one available product using the Member Coupon Rewards filter.
- Add the item to your cart, go to checkout, and enter your coupon code. (Please note, only one coupon code per order. Must be used for single CEU based products only).
- Submit your order.

Discounts are available on membership dues for 10+ staff.
Organizations can purchase membership and recertification in one expedited order.

AHIMA dues are not deductible as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes but may be partially deductible as a business expense. AHIMA estimates that 5% of your dues payment is not deductible because of AHIMA’s lobbying activities on behalf of its members.
How often is the Journal of AHIMA published?
The Journal is published digitally on the first weekday of every month at journal.ahima.org. In addition, new content is published weekly between issues.
