Dr. Jasmine T. Agnew, DHPE, MHIIM, RHIA, CPHIMS, CSBI, eFACHDM
Dr. Jasmine T. Agnew is an award-winning educator in the field of health informatics and information management. She is a published author, community activist, ecumenical scholar, and health equity advocate. Dr. Agnew is passionate about addressing inequities in healthcare IT and developing a highly skilled workforce. Her research focuses on advancing healthcare, academic equity, and stakeholder involvement in developing relevant curricula. Dr. Agnew has shared her expertise on competency-based healthcare education and workforce development at the local and national levels. She loves educating the HIT/HIM/HI community about emerging technologies and their role in managing patient data and improving patient outcomes.
Dr. Agnew is a graduate of Itawamba Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Health Information Technology. She graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management. She obtained a Master of Science in Health Informatics and Information Management from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a Master of Theological Studies from Regent University School of Divinity. She completed her Doctor of Health Professions Education degree from Logan University. She holds several industry-related credentials and certifications in health information management, healthcare systems, change management, and process improvement.
