AHIMA Announces 2026 Triumph Award Winners: Celebrating Excellence in Health Information
CHICAGO – September 15, 2026 – The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 Triumph Awards, honoring outstanding individuals whose leadership, innovation, advocacy, and dedication help advance the health information (HI) profession.
The Triumph Awards recognize professionals and students making a meaningful impact across the field, from leading, advocating, and expanding educational opportunities to mentoring colleagues and inspiring the next generation of HI professionals.

- Educator Award: Teresa Neal, MHA, RHIA
- Emerging Star Award: Julissa Avila, MHIM, RHIA
- Innovation Award: Kristen Borth, MS, RHIA, CHPS
- Leadership Award: Tami McMasters Gomez, MHL, BS-HIM, CCDS, CDIP
- Mentor Award: Evan T. Harmon, MHI, RHIA (posthumous)
- Student Award: Alison Martin, CCA
The 2026 Triumph Award winners will be recognized at the upcoming AHIMA Annual Conference October 4–6 in San Antonio, where their accomplishments and contributions will be celebrated alongside colleagues and peers from across the industry. The AHIMA Distinguished Member and Grace Award winners will also be announced at the conference.
