Attendees will use this time to share the work they are involved with at their organizations related to SDOH data. Each breakout room will have a short ice breaker and two substantive questions to discuss.
While patients don’t often see them, health information professionals see patients in a way no other healthcare professional does. In his current role at AHIMA, Andrew advocates on behalf of AHIMA members on issues related to the intersection of technology and healthcare both domestically and abroad. Prior to his time at AHIMA, Andrew served as the Director of Federal Affairs at the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and as a Director of External Affairs at UnitedHealth Group. Andrew has worked on health IT policy for over 10 years, including during a six-year career at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) that culminated with a posting focused on international health IT issues and stakeholder engagement for the National Coordinator. A graduate of American University in Washington, DC, Andrew grew up in metro-Detroit and currently resides with his wife and dog in Baltimore, MD.

Shawn Rossi, DHA, FACHE, serves as the Vice President of Communications and Member Engagement for the Mississippi Hospital Association and an assistant professor in the Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). She is a board-certified Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). She also serves on the Boards of Directors for the Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency, the Mississippi Public Health Association, the Mississippi Society of Association Executives, and the American College of Healthcare Executives of Mississippi. She is a member of the University of Southern Mississippi’s (USM’s) Community Health Advisory Board, the Age-Friendly Mississippi Advisory Council, and the Mississippi Early Childhood Investment Council.

Dr. Henna Qureshi is a Pediatrician at the Inova Cares Clinic for Children as well as the Associate Ambulatory Pediatric Clerkship Director for UVA SOM Inova Campus. She is the Physician Lead for SDOH under the Division of Community Health at Inova Health System. She is a member of the Inclusion Council responsible for promoting Inclusion and Belonging initiatives across the health system. She serves on the boards of MCCP and Obat Helpers promoting heath equity and access to care as well as performing international humanitarian work, disaster relief, and refugee medicine. Passionate about social drivers of health, Dr. Qureshi has led the Inova system wide healthcare screening.

Maria is the director of health informatics and information management services for UCLA Health System in Los Angeles, CA. She has been president of the California Health Information Association, and CA delegate to AHIMA, and has served the association through her engagement on the AHIMA Future of the House Taskforce and the AHIMA Envisioning Collaborative and is a proud AHIMA Mentor. Maria looks for opportunities to bring people together on emerging topics and technologies in the healthcare space and is engaged in advanced thought leadership in health IT governance, data integrity and innovative technologies that aim to improve patients’ experience in navigating their healthcare journey.

Lauren serves as AHIMA’s Chief Public Policy and Impact Officer. In this capacity, she is responsible for providing strategic and operational oversight over AHIMA’s advocacy and programmatic strategy to demonstrate mission impact. With two decades of healthcare policy experience, Lauren previously worked on Capitol Hill where she served many roles including Chief of Staff. Lauren received her JD from American University Washington College of Law and undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University. She is admitted to practice law in New York.
