Biography

Dee Banet is a strategic leader in Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) with more than 25 years of experience advancing the integrity, usability and the value of health information across complex healthcare environments.  As Chief CDI Officer at Physician Care Coordination Consultants (PC3 Health), she leads enterprise-level strategies that strengthen documentation accuracy, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision making core to improving quality outcomes and healthcare transparency.  With a clinical foundation as a critical care nurse, Banet brings frontline insight into the realities of documentation, quality and patient care.  She transitioned into CDI during the early evolution of Clinical Documentation Management Programs (CDMP), positioning herself at the forefront of a discipline that now plays a critical role in health data integrity, reimbursement and policy alignment. Her leadership experience spans inpatient and ambulatory CDI, Care Management and Utilization Management, giving her a comprehensive perspective on the full lifecycle of health information.

Banet has demonstrated sustained commitment to advancing the profession through national engagement and leadership.  She co-founded the Southern Indiana/Kentucky ACDIS chapter and has served on the ACDIS Advisory Board, Leadership Council and Regulatory Committees contributing to industry guidance on documentation integrity, compliance, and best practices.  Her work reflects a deep understanding of the evolving role of HIM professionals in a data-driven healthcare landscape.

Banet is a strong advocate for professional development, mentorship, and workforce readiness.  She is particularly passionate about preparing the next generation of HIM and CDI leaders to navigate emerging challenges, including data governance, regulatory complexity, and the increasing demand for accurate, actionable health information. As a candidate for CCHIIM Commissioner, Banet brings a governance-focused perspective rounded in operational expertise, national engagement, and a commitment to advancing the strategic priorities of the profession.
