Betty Rockendorf, MS, RHIA, CHPS

Betty Rockendorf, MS, RHIA, CHPS, Program Director for the University of Wisconsin Health Information Management & Technology Baccalaureate degree program at UW-Parkside, has been recognized for her excellence in preparing future HI professionals for their careers. She has mentored and nurtured students in her courses and beyond by using innovative teaching methods and setting high expectations, including placing over 316 students in successful Capstone (professional practice) placements over the past 7 years. By serving as a role model and volunteer for AHIMA, she promotes the value of credentials. She has supported HI education as the founding director of the UW-Parkside baccalaureate program, serving on AHIMA’s Council for Excellence in Education and establishing Wisconsin’s first Health Information Educator Group to encourage collaboration across programs. She has been a presenter and educator at Wisconsin Health Information Management Association conferences. Betty has a Master’s degree in Health Information Management and a Certificate in Health Informatics from The College of St. Scholastica.
