Health Information: Making Every Patient’s Story Matter
Content With Purpose (CWP) is partnering with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) to create Health Information: Making Every Patient’s Story Matter, an innovative digital series that will showcase the crucial work of health information (HI) professionals in ensuring that providers and patients have accurate, secure, and accessible data to support better health outcomes across the globe, ultimately shaping the future of healthcare.
In today’s rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, HI professionals stand at the intersection of care, technology, and policy. They empower patients, support providers, and accelerate improvements in health outcomes, yet the broad and deep impact of HI professionals is often made outside the spotlight.
Health Information: Making Every Patient’s Story Matter aims to address this narrative. Through a combination of future-focused content, including short films and interviews, this upcoming series will introduce the inspiring people and organizations across North America and internationally who are transforming the health information sector. The series will bring the profession to center stage, showcasing people revolutionizing the way health information is created, collected, exchanged, utilized, and protected. Building on AHIMA's advocacy, the series will also explore the role of HI professionals in the broader healthcare landscape, including health systems and other industry partners that employ HI specialists to better understand how the collective HI voice has shaped the past, present, and future.
Stories in the series highlight the vital contributions of HI professionals—from streamlining processes to safeguarding sensitive patient data—while keeping a firm focus on improving health outcomes, as HI professionals do. It will delve into innovations in clinical documentation integrity, data analytics, and privacy and security. The series will also examine how social data beyond medical details can shape our understanding of patients’ lives and health, as well as how AI-powered tools are transforming care, emphasizing data as a vital asset in enhancing patients’ lives and supporting informed, effective healthcare decision-making.
Featuring leading voices from the industry, the series will advance knowledge, foster innovation, and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders to celebrate the work of HI professionals.
The series will launch at AHIMA2025 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, October 2025 and will kick off a larger digital campaign showcasing the impact work done by AHIMA members, credentialed HI professionals and other partners working in HI. We will offer tailored outreach to explain the story and value of HI and its impact on anyone from policy makers to medical professionals to personal friends.
This project will leverage the power of character-led narratives and strategic content marketing to help AHIMA amplify its influential voice for HI professionals, communicate the value of HI, and serve as a valuable resource to start conversations and build relationships for global impact. CWP will work with AHIMA to secure leading organizations to lend their voice to the series and widen its reach through their networks.
