AHIMA's core values are Integrity, Bold, and Inclusive. How would you incorporate these into your service if elected to the AHIMA Board of Directors?
As a candidate for the AHIMA Board of Directors, I bring a deep commitment to the core values of AHIMA, particularly the principle of integrity. Whether in my professional or personal life, integrity is the foundation of everything I do. As a Board member, I will ensure that my recommendations and actions consistently reflect this value, creating a positive impact that aligns with the organization's mission and vision.
Serving as a Board member requires a willingness to lead with courage and boldness. We must be change agents, unafraid to make tough decisions that could reshape the future of health information and more so, healthcare in general. As we navigate these challenges, it is essential that we do so with a strategic and thoughtful approach, taking into account both immediate needs and long-term implications.
Every decision made at the Board level carries weight, and I believe it is critical to consider the multifaceted perspectives of our diverse membership. AHIMA represents individuals across various roles, from health information professionals in clinical settings to those in administrative, technological, and policy-related positions. This diversity is one of our greatest strengths, and it is my goal to ensure that all voices are heard and that our decisions benefit the broader AHIMA community. By examining issues from multiple viewpoints and prioritizing the greater good of our members, I aim to contribute to an inclusive and supportive environment for all. I will focus on ensuring that AHIMA remains at the forefront of the health information profession, championing the importance of data integrity, privacy, and patient-centered care.
Ultimately, as a Board member, my decisions will be guided by a commitment to integrity, boldness, and inclusivity. I will work to ensure that AHIMA continues to empower its members to serve patients effectively and ethically, driving meaningful change in our field.
