It’s your chance to get to know the volunteer leaders who make up this year’s candidate choices on the 2025 AHIMA Election ballot. Be an informed voter by reviewing the candidates’ biographies, position statements, videos, flyers, and more. This is your chance to shape the future of AHIMA and the Health Information profession.
Voting begins Monday, July 7, at 8 a.m. CT and runs through Monday, July 21, at 5 p.m. CT.
All Professional, Professional Premier, and Professional Global members of AHIMA with an active membership status are encouraged to vote. Go to the MyAHIMA Hub to check your membership status or renew!
Unfortunately, student members and non-members are ineligible to vote.
Important Information: This year, AHIMA is partnering with an online election system to tabulate the votes in AHIMA’s National Election. Each eligible AHIMA member will be assigned a unique access key which can only be used to vote once. To vote, your AHIMA membership status must be active. Go to MyAHIMA Hub to ensure your membership is active.

Sue Clarke-Kendrick, MHA, RHIA, FAHIMA, has over 24 years of experience in Health Information leadership, managing operations, coding, CDI, revenue, HIPAA, implementations in long term, acute care and ambulatory care settings along with teaching, developing and managing curricula.
Dr. Angie Comfort is a nationally recognized leader in Health Information with over 30 years of experience advancing clinical documentation integrity, coding compliance, and revenue cycle innovation across both provider and vendor sectors.
Rebecca Conroy Bargfrede (Becci) is a passionate and experienced healthcare leader with over 20 years of service in Health Information Management and hospital operations. She currently serves as Chief Transformational Officer and Corporate Compliance Officer at Bitterroot Health.
Dr. Sunni D. Borghi is a distinguished healthcare executive with over three decades of experience leading transformative initiatives in health information management (HIM), data analytics, and organizational development.
Vong Miphouvieng, MHA, RHIA, CHPS is a dedicated health information leader with nearly 20 years of progressive experience in health information management (HIM), privacy, compliance, and strategic innovation.
Erika Parker brings over fifteen years of experience in the health information field. Since 2017, she has served as the Department Chair for the Health Information Technology program at Central Carolina Community College, where she leads curriculum development, fosters student success, and advocates for the advancement of the health information profession.
Larry Smith is an accomplished health information director with over 20 years of progressive experience in health information governance, regulatory compliance, and health data strategy. As a seasoned leader in the healthcare industry, Larry oversees the management and security of patient health records, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while promoting data integrity and operational excellence.
Beatrice Avila, M.Ed., RHIA, CCS-P is an experienced Health Information Management (HIM) professional and dedicated educator with more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She currently serves as the Program Director and Assistant Professor of the Health Information Technology (HIT) program at St. Philip’s College.
Diane Dolezel, PhD, MSCS, RHIA, CHDA, is an Associate Professor in the Health Informatics and Health Information department at Texas State University. She teaches graduate and undergraduate classes in healthcare statistics, healthcare informatics, advanced healthcare data analytics, healthcare quality management, and healthcare databases.
Carole is an active HI practitioner, educator, and an engaged member of AHIMA with twenty-eight years of experience. Carole is a graduate of Rowan College at Burlington County (formerly known as Burlington County College). She has been an RHIT since 1997, CCS since 1999, and CDIP since 2017.
Mandalynn Marcus brings over 20 years of diverse HIM experience—from hands-on roles in patient access and coding to executive-level leadership in education and workforce advocacy.
Dr. Tierney Beebe is a dedicated health information management (HIM) professional with over 20 years of experience in HIM operations, education, and leadership. She currently serves as an instructor in Health Information Management at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Christine Tomas is the Academic Program Coordinator for the Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Technology (HIT) and the Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Information Management (HIM) programs at Arapahoe Community College in Colorado.

Brianna Kelly, MBA, RHIA is currently a Senior Population Health Manager at Lumeris working with Hackensack Meridian Health, one of the largest healthcare systems in New Jersey. She comes from a family of health professionals and has been involved in the healthcare field for over 16 years.
Diane Premeau is a highly experienced professional with over 30+ years of service to AHIMA, CHIA and in the management and security of health information across various healthcare settings. Her expertise spans electronic health record (EHR) systems deployment, focusing on system integrity, cybersecurity mitigation, and disaster planning.
