Biography

Keisha Downes MBA-HM, BSN, RN, CCDS, CCS is the Sr. Director Mid-Revenue Cycle for Tufts Medicine and Visiting Professor for DeVry University’s HIT program. As a transformational leader with 20 years of healthcare experience, Downes has a passion for leading change through education and data driven outcomes. She is the SME Reviewer for 2024 ACDIS Pocket Guide the Essential CDI Resource. Downes’ volunteer experience includes committee which authored Guidelines for Achieving a Compliant Query Practice- 2022 Update ACDIS Mastermind 2022-2023, ACDIS Advisory Board for the 2024-2027 term and Subject Matter Expert- CCS Standard Setting Panel 2024. Downes has also presented education to CDI and HIM professionals on local and national platforms.

What makes you uniquely qualified to serve on the Council for Excellence in Education (CEE)?

I have a passion for leading change through education and data driven outcomes. It is my intent to assure best practice in our specialty of healthcare by identifying potential knowledge gaps, working with the council to develop curriculum and determine variations of learning platforms for the diverse community of HI professionals. As I am working with HI professionals from novice to expert every day, I am uniquely qualified for the council because I have a first-hand grasp of learning opportunities across the health information profession.
