David Marc, PhD, CHDA is a leading expert and educator in the field of health informatics and information management. He is an associate professor, the department chair, and the graduate program director at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN, where he teaches courses on artificial intelligence, data analytics, healthcare research, and health information systems. He holds a master’s degree in biological sciences and a PhD in health informatics from the University of Minnesota, and he is a certified health data analyst (CHDA). His presentations offer valuable insights into subjects such as the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare, data-informed decision-making, and trends in the health informatics and information management workforce.
Ammon Fillmore’s legal practice focuses on where data and technology meet healthcare. Ammon has extensive experience advising healthcare systems, physician practice groups, technology companies, and public agencies on privacy, security, and operational matters including emerging issues around artificial intelligence, information blocking, data rights, interoperability, and technology licensing and contracting. Currently, Ammon is the Associate Chief Legal Officer: Information & Technology with AdventHealth, a non-profit health care system operating in 9 states with over 50 hospital campuses. Ammon earned his Juris Doctor and Master of Health Administration from the University of Iowa where he also spent time working for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Fairbanks, Alaska and the Kameda Medical Center in Kamogawa City, Japan.
Kelly Canter is a seasoned health information professional specializing in revenue cycle with a specialization in denial mitigation, and artificial intelligence technology product design, management and strategy. Kelly is the Senior Director of Product Management at Anomaly. She has over 20 years in the field including publishing multiple books and articles. Kelly is an active member of AHIMA having served many volunteer roles at the national, state, and regional levels including currently serving on AHIMA's Board of Directors. She is a master’s educated Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT), who is also credentialed in revenue cycle management, medical coding, and product management.
Eric Nordgren is a former English major in ongoing recovery. Before joining The College of St. Scholastica, he gained valuable experience in a variety of fields, with a winding and diverse career path that includes two stops in the insurance industry, a number of years in the retail sales of running shoes, and time in the classroom as a middle and high school substitute teacher. As the Director of the Center for Professional Training and Lifelong Learning at the College, Eric is dedicated to fostering lifelong learning. He leads the development and administration of educational programs designed to help individuals enhance their skills for career advancement, support organizations in upskilling their workforce, and works to create meaningful opportunities for personal growth.
Megan Pruente is the IT Director of Person Identity Management at Banner Health, leading initiatives to improve person matching and data integrity across the healthcare system. With over a decade of experience in master patient index management, data quality, public health informatics, and healthcare analytics, she is a recognized speaker and educator, having developed an online health informatics course and mentored professionals in the field. She has received several accolades, including the AHIMA Rising Star Award (2014) and the AHIMA Mentor Award (2023). Megan holds a bachelor’s degree in health informatics from The College of St. Scholastica and a Master of Public Health Informatics from the University of Minnesota.

Roberta B. Baranda, MS, RHIA, CHP, FAHIMA is the current director of health information services, clinical documentation Improvement and coding as well the data governance officer at Valley Children’s Healthcare. Roberta has served in additional capacities with the Valley Children’s organization including director of patient access, director of ambulatory operations and the privacy officer. She is awarded the CHIA Distinguished Member Award in 2024 and the AHIMA 2024 Triumph Award for Mentorship. She has recently achieved her AHIMA Fellowship designation in July 2024. Roberta earned her bachelor’s degree in health information management from York College of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in health information management and information technology leadership from the College of St. Scholastica.

As Executive Vice President of Harris Data Integrity Solutions, Rachel oversees strategic growth and operational excellence across a portfolio of patient identity and health information solutions. She is a passionate advocate for responsible AI adoption and has helped health systems nationwide leverage emerging technologies to solve complex patient matching and data governance challenges. Lori Diederichs is a RHIA Health Information Management professional with over 20 years’ experience, in many types of health care settings including hospital, clinic, rural health, critical access and an academic health system. She has her bachelor’s degree in accounting and obtained her master’s degree in health information management from The College of St. Scholastica. In her current role as Senior Director of Health Information Management she has responsibility for HIM operations including release of information, master patient index, indexing and the patient portal.
LaSha Cofer is an award-winning Health Information Management (HIM) professional with over 25 years of experience across family practice, inpatient rehab, long and short-term acute care, and higher education. Since joining Optum in February 2013 as a Product Specialist, LaSha has advanced to the role of Senior Product Manager, contributing significantly to the implementation of the Optum Enterprise Computer-Assisted Coding solution. LaSha holds a Master of Science in Health Systems Management from American Sentinel University, a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from the Medical College of Georgia, and an Associate of Science in Health Information Management from Gordon College. She is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and an AHIMA-Approved Revenue Cycle Trainer.
Rana Abuzir is the Director of Health Information Practice Advancement, she monitors industry trends, integrates HI policies into standards, and coordinates activities across initiatives and workgroups. She oversees volunteer projects and resource development aimed at advancing health information guidelines and practices for HI professionals, healthcare providers and patients. Rana's expertise spans strategic planning, healthcare systems improvement, and developing advancement pathways through education and mentorship. With a data-driven approach, she ensures AHIMA's resources remain relevant and impactful in an evolving healthcare landscape. Jennifer Mueller is the Senior Vice President of Health Information Career Advancement at AHIMA. In this role, she leads initiatives to assess and meet the professional and training needs of the health information (HI) workforce. She oversees AHIMA’s CEU development, educational quality initiatives, and member career advancement strategies. Previously, Jennifer served as the Vice President and Privacy Officer at the Wisconsin Hospital Association Information Center in Madison, Wisconsin. Her extensive experience includes a term as President of AHIMA and a three-year tenure on its Board of Directors. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Lakeisha Tolbert is the Director of Practice Advancement at AHIMA where she is responsible for leading/co-leading Community of Practice (CoP) initiatives. Currently, primary focus is Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) and Non-Clinical Artificial Intelligence (NC-AI) CoPs and co-leading Privacy and Access to Health Data CoPs. In this role, she oversees volunteer group projects and resource development focused on advancing the health information (HI) guidelines and practices for our healthcare profession for audiences that include HI Professionals, the broader healthcare community, patients and the general public. Keisha has more than 22 years of experience in the Health Information profession, holding a variety of leadership and consulting roles in the outpatient and inpatient healthcare settings.
