Position Statement Question

AHIMA’s mission is empowering people to impact health®. What distinctive expertise and experience do you have to contribute to AHIMA’s mission?

In contributing to AHIMA's mission I would call upon my experience of many years of board leadership as well as strong operational leadership from directing multiple strategic initiatives. I have served my state HIM association (CO) as President twice and have strived to ensure our association was able to make agile decisions and was outcome focused. I have served as one of our state delegates for AHIMA for two terms, including the most recent, and am passionate about ensuring that AHIMA remains a relevant progressive organization. I am currently serving as Co-Chair of the AHIMA Triumph Committee and believe in the recognition of our innovative leaders. Throughout my career in health information and revenue cycle management, my focus has always been outcomes. I understand how HI impacts people in our hospitals, clinics, and communities. I continuously seek to elevate our profession as the center of technology, people, and process and work to ensure that HIM is at the table of every important initiative. Health information is vital to each step of the patient’s journey and our role as HI professionals is to ensure the integrity, privacy, access, quality, and timeliness of that information.
