Sally Beahan has worked at the University of Washington (UW) for 22 years in a variety of roles and currently she is the senior director of UW Medicine’s enterprise records & health information department. Beahan served on the Washington State Health Information Management Association Board from 2014-2018. She was the recipient of the University of Washington’s Distinguished Staff Award in 2016 for the successful implementation of ICD10 across nine UW Medicine entities. Beahan and her team collaborated with AHIMA on an information governance (IG) pilot site in 2014 and Beahan is an IG trailblazer, sharing successes and strategies with HI professionals across the country. She earned a master’s degree in healthcare administration in 2009 from the University of Washington and has a bachelor’s degree in health information administration from Seattle University.
