Position Statement Question

What makes you uniquely qualified to serve on the AHIMA Board of Directors?

As an accomplished and successful health information professional, I possess several characteristics that qualify me to serve on the AHIMA Board of Directors. However, one that stands out most is my commitment to lifelong learning. The healthcare landscape is continually evolving with new technologies, regulations, and challenges. I am an advocate of lifelong learning and professional development with a focus on innovation and staying abreast of industry developments and best practices to contribute to AHIMA initiatives and priorities. I also advocate and support a broad set of members and audiences with the treatment of all equitably, ensuring we all have the tools we need to succeed and feel valued. It is vital that we create a welcoming environment where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents. By embracing the richness of our diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities, we strive to create a more equitable and inclusive association where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and succeed. We should work towards building a stronger, more united community where each member can truly be themselves and reach their full potential. Volunteering and supporting AHIMA also allows me to connect with other HI professionals, contribute to AHIMA initiatives, and stay involved in shaping the future of the health information management profession. Participation on the AHIMA Board of Directors will afford me an opportunity to lead by example and serve the greater good of our members, our community and society at large.
