The Associação Brasileira de Informática em Saúde – SBIS (Brazilian Association in Health Informatics) has a Professionalization Program in Information Communication and Technology in Health, called proTICS. It is comprised of two initiatives:
Professional Training Program – objective is fostering the creation of new undergraduate and specialization courses in the field of health informatics.
Professional Certification Program – objective is recognizing the professional competencies of this professional, enabling recognition of the profession by means of a professional certificate in Information Technology and Communications in Health (cpTICS). First exam was in 2012 and 9 people got their certifications.
