Melanie Endicott provides professional practice expertise to AHIMA members, the media, and outside organizations on coding practice issues. She also authors and supports AHIMA online coding education, including the Coding Basics program, and is a technical advisor for the Association on ICD-9-CM, CPT, and ICD-10-CM/PCS coding publications. Ms. Endicott also serves as author and faculty for the AHIMA ICD-10-CM/PCS Academies.
Prior to joining AHIMA, Ms. Endicott served as the program director of the Health Information Technology program at Spokane Community College. Before that, she performed inpatient and outpatient coding and abstracting in a large acute care hospital and has been a coding and HIM educator at multiple colleges and universities. Ms. Endicott has presented numerous seminars and educational sessions on coding and health information management (HIM)-related topics.
Ms. Endicott received her Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from Carroll College, and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix.
