Maria Noelle Ward, MEd, RHIT, CCS-P, CPC

HIM Director and Compliance Officer,TrustPoint Hospital

Ms. Ward joined the TrustPoint team in October 2010 as the first HIM director for the inpatient rehab and geriatric psych hospital. In 2012, she was appointed as the compliance officer, and has implemented privacy and security standards relating to electronic health record (EHR) implementation within the hospital.

Prior to joining TrustPoint Hospital, Ms. Ward was assistant managing director for the Medical Practice Income Plan, Central Training and Coding Services of TTUHSC. She provided institutional oversight, training, and management of clinic operations and quality assurance. She worked as a private consultant for several different companies, ensuring regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local authorities in terms of medical records management.

Ms. Ward completed her Master’s in Education at Wayland Baptist University, majoring in early childhood education. Through AHIMA she has received her RHIA and CCS-Pcredentials. Ms. Ward is also an AHIMA-approved ICD-10-CM/PCS trainer.
