Kathy DeVault provides her expertise on professional practice issues to AHIMA members, the media, and outside organizations. She authors and supports AHIMA online coding education, including the AHIMA Coding Basics program, and has been one of the primary ICD-10-CM/PCS instructors for the AHIMA ICD-10-CM/PCS Academies since 2009. Ms. DeVault also serves as a technical advisor for the Association on ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, and CPT coding publications.
Prior to joining AHIMA, Ms. DeVault served as data quality analyst for coding in a regional healthcare system. She was also a coding educator, and has presented numerous seminars and educational sessions on coding and health information management (HIM)-related topics.
