Vanessa Duplechain, MSA, RHIA, CHPS, FAHIMA

Vanessa Duplechain, MSA, RHIA, CHPS, FAHIMA, is co-owner and founder of Health Information Resource Group, a remote coding company, incorporated in San Francisco, CA, with home offices in Ewa Beach, HI. She has served two terms on AHIMA’s Faculty Development Workgroup, and two terms as president of the Health Information Management Association of Hawaii, HIMAH, where she also served as director and on numerous committees in support of the Association and its members. She was instrumental in the development of Hawaii’s Health Information Technology Program and served as the Program Director for 10 years. Her professional background started in 1979, where she began as professional fee and hospital coding, chargemaster manager, VP of release of information, HIM director and educator. Ms. Duplechain has always been one of the most outspoken advocates for the advancement of the HIM profession and its important contributions to the medical community.
