myPHR.com is AHIMA’s cost-free, commercial-free web site designed to help healthcare consumers learn about or start a personal health record (PHR). The site offers:
Content specific to key PHR audiences
• The site features areas devoted to seven specific demographic communities, each of which can benefit from PHRs in different ways: parents, seniors, chronically ill, caregivers, athletes, students, and travelers.
• Each audience segment features news stories, PHR success stories, frequently asked questions, and helpful links that are specific to that audience’s needs and interests.
Blogs to advance the conversation and raise PHR visibility
• Five audience segments (parents, seniors, caregivers, athletes and travelers) include blogs written and edited by credentialed health information management (HIM) professionals who are members of the AHIMA community.
• Bloggers help readers see the connections between PHRs, current events, and their everyday lives.
• Readers can subscribe to RSS feeds for each individual blog.
Community development opportunities
• Readers can submit their own PHR success stories, which are edited by AHIMA and featured on the site.
• Visitors and AHIMA members are able to submit notifications of public events of interest to the myPHR.com community.
hicareers.com is AHIMA’s student recruitment website designed to address current workforce shortages and the changing needs of the health information industry. This site includes up-to-date information about the topics of interest to future HIM students, including financial aid opportunities, sample academic pathways, and profiles of HIM students. The site also provides current students with certification exam prep tips, career paths, and salary studies.
