Program Faculty

Patricia T. Sheridan, MBA, RHIA, will speak at all seminars with either Jean S. Clark, RHIA, or Gwen Hughes, RHIA, CHP.

Jean S. Clark, RHIA is service line director of HIM services and the system’s JCAHO coordinator for Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston, SC . She is also faculty for Care Communications Inc.’s Leadership Center which provides leadership training and executive coaching to healthcare leaders on transformative change.

She is an accomplished national speaker having presented numerous seminars on quality assurance and Joint Commission Standards.  She is also a published author and expert on JCAHO and acute care documentation. Ms. Clark is a past president of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the current president of the International Federal Health Record Organization (IFHRO). She is recognized as a leader and change agent and in 2000 she received the Distinguished Member Award, AHIMA’s highest award, for her exceptional contributions to the HIM field.

Jean will speak in San Antonio, TX and Scottsdale, AZ.

Leslie Ann Fox, MA, RHIA, is CEO and co-founder of Care Communications, Inc., an HIM staffing and consulting company dedicated to advancing e-HIM best practices in healthcare organizations throughout the US. Since founding Care Communications in 1976, Ms. Fox has directed the development of more than 30 seminars and publications on HIM department management and quality management methodologies. In addition to her expertise in HIM, Ms. Fox developed Systems-based Leadership and Change Management™, an approach to leadership and change management based on the application of Bowen Family Systems Theory to organizations.

Leslie will speak in Hilton Head Island, SC.

Patricia T. Sheridan, MBA, RHIA is President of Care Communications, Inc. (CARE). She is a results-oriented change agent and provides leadership for the development and delivery of CARE’s products and services to the healthcare industry. Ms. Sheridan joined CARE in 1999 as its director of information systems. In this role she had the opportunity to work on numerous healthcare technology projects and gained insights into the complexities of leading transformative change. These insights and other observations on leadership led to co-developing CARE’s unique approach to leading change called Systems-based Leadership and Change Management™. 

Ms. Sheridan is faculty for CARE’s Leadership Center and also faculty for AHIMA’s leadership program: Leadership for the 21st Century: Leading the way to e-HIM.  She co-authors the monthly column, “Hands-on Help” in the publication “Advance for Health Information Professionals and presents nationally on health information management topics. Ms. Sheridan has participated as a volunteer on several of AHIMA’s HIM Practice Standards workgroups and is a past president of the New York State Health Information Management Association.
