This conference is convened as part of the State Level Health Information Exchange Consensus Project by the Foundation of Research and Education of the American Health Information Management Association, under contract to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, Department of Health and Human Services.

 

Objectives:

  1. Convene stakeholders to consider and react to a proposed framework for HIE organizational functions and roles in the context of the emerging NHIN
  2. Engage participants in developing consensus recommendations to further inform infrastructure development at national, state and local levels. 

The conference is open to anyone interested in examining the successes and challenges in state-level organizations and initiatives that coordinate health information exchanges or services. The agenda will consist of plenary sessions, panel discussions and structured dialogue.

  • HIE organizations from local, regional and state levels
  • HIE industry leaders
  • HIE stakeholders: industry, business, consumer
  • Federal agencies: ONC, AHRQ, CMS
