AHIMA's Advocacy Efforts

For more than a decade, AHIMA has called upon the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)—the code set maintenance organization for the United States—and the healthcare industry to take quick and decisive action to expedite the adoption and implementation of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS code sets, rules, and guidelines as a replacement for ICD-9-CM.
