Netscape Navigator/Communicator Help

We've provided some important tutorials for helping solve possible browser problems related to Netscape Navigator/Communicator. You may download the newest version of Netscape by clicking here.

Determining Your Version of Netscape Navigator
1. Click on Help -> About Netscape (or it may say About Communicator)from the top menu bar of a browser window
2. Your Netscape version should be at least 6.0 or above, and ideally version 7 or above. You may download an upgrade for free from Netscape by clicking here

Clearing Cookies/Temporary Internet Files

Occassionally, problems that you encounter while browsing AHIMA web sites may be caused by the cookies and temporary files stored by your browser on your computer. Removing them often fixes many problems associated with logins or viewing old versions of pages (cached pages). Below are the instructions for clearing all of your cookies and temporary internet files

1. Click on Edit -> Preferences from the top menu bar of a browser window
2. Click on the Advanced tab on the left, which opens the Advanced Settings sub-menu. From this list, click and highlight Cache. Once the Cache menu is open, click on Clear Memory Cache and Clear Disk Cache from the right. Once these are complete, select 'OK' from the bottom.
3. Once it is complete, select 'OK' to exit out of both screens. You should then close all of your currently open Netscape Navigator/Communicator browsers windows, and then re-open a new Netscape Navigator/Communicator window.
