Joe D'Antonio, Chair

Joe is a Senior Manager at Siemens Medical Solutions where he manages the product development for the Soarian Health Information Management (HIM) and Enterprise Document Management (EDM) product portfolios.  With Siemens since 1999, Joe has had several product management roles in the areas of reporting, output management, document management, and health information management.  Prior to joining Siemens, Joe was a Clinical Engineer at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.  He holds an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Bridgeport (CT) as well as a Master of Engineering degree a and a Master of Business Administration degree from Widener University (PA).

 

Keith L. Olenik, MA, RHIA, CHP, Vice Chair

Keith Olenik has over 20 years of experience working with provider healthcare delivery systems as a member of senior management and as a consultant.  He specializes in methods to streamline business operations, evaluate and implement information technology solutions, and enhance productivity through process improvement.  Keith started his own consulting company The Olenik Consulting Group in 2005. He is also a Visiting Professor for the University of Cincinnati Health Information Management Program. In addition to these activities Keith has been a speaker at various conventions and educational seminars on HIPAA, project management, legal health records, and electronic health records.

 

Barbara Odom-Wesley, PhD, RHIA, FAHIMA, Vice Chair

Barbara Odom-Wesley, PhD, RHIA, FAHIMA has been in the HIM field since 1968.  She has worked in a variety of healthcare settings and the academic environment.  She has served as president of the Texas Health information Management Association (TxHIMA) and the AHIMA.  She was awarded as the TxHIMA distinguished member twice.  Currently, Dr. Odem-Wesley chairs the HIT program at DeVry University and serves as vice-chair of the FORE Board. 

Antoine Agassi

Antoine Abdallah Agassi is Director/Chair of the Governor’s eHealth Advisory Council for the state of Tennessee.  He has over twenty years of experience in healthcare transaction processing.  Antoine served as the Chief Technology Officer and the Chief Operating Officer of Spheris Corporation, a leading healthcare transcription and technology organization and INC. Magazine's fastest growing healthcare technology company.   In 2006, Agassi was voted a member of the Health Care 100 by the Nashville Business Journal. Agassi earned his MBA from Syracuse University and his Bachelor of  Computer Science degree from the State University of New York

Terry Cameron

Terry Cameron is executive vice president of Thomson Healthcare’s Provider division. Prior to that, Terry was at a leading transcription provider where he was the senior vice president of marketing, strategic planning and business development. Terry also served as senior vice president at Ingenix, where he was responsible for strategic marketing, planning and business development across the provider, payer and pharmaceutical segments. Terry has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa and has completed graduate course work in hospital administration.

John K. Dugan, CPA

John Dugan is a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers and serves as the Philadelphia Market Leader for the Health Industries Sector.  In this capacity John is a member of the extended leadership team of the Philadelphia office, which comprises over 1,200 employees and 100 partners.  Prior to joining PricewaterhouseCoopers, John served 8 years in various financial management positions at the largest teaching hospital in Philadelphia and also a community hospital.  John is currently serving as the President of the Metropolitan Philadelphia Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. John serves on the board and is the Audit Committee Chair for the Inglis Foundation.  John is also a member of the De'Touqeville Society of the United Way.

 

Gail L. Graham, RHIA 

Gail Graham is the Director of Health Data and Informatics for the Veterans Health Administration, the nation’s largest integrated health care system.  She oversees data management and informatics programs including Health Information Management, Privacy, Security, 508 Compliance, Patient Safety, National Data Systems, Identity Management and Data Quality, Data Services, Standards & Interagency Liaison, and Heath Information Resources.  Ms. Graham was voted one of the 100 most influential people in health care by Modern Healthcare magazine in 2005 and 2006 in recognition of her central role in expanding the use of information technology in health care.

 

Robert E. Healy, Jr.

Prior to joining Precyse Solutions in April 2003 as Executive Vice President, Robert was Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Music Choice, a service provider of commercial free music to cable and satellite television customers. Robert has over 30 years of business and finance experience and began his career with Price Waterhouse, leaving in 1981 to become Assistant Controller for Atcor, Inc., a manufacturing and distribution organization.  He graduated from the University of Notre Dame and is a certified public accountant.

Beth Kost-Woodrow, BS, RHIA

Beth Kost- Woodrow has extensive experience in various aspects of healthcare.  Her hospital-based experience includes Executive Director of Health Information and Case Management in acute care hospitals and trauma centers, overall hospital business process redesign and implementation of Documentation Improvement Programs.  Ms. Kost is a former Chief Operating Officer, Compliance Officer and Privacy Officer of one of the largest Health Information Management services and outsourcing firms in the United States and has held national leadership positions in healthcare practices within several international accounting firms.  Ms. Kost earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Information Management from Bowling Green State University.

 

Lynn Kuehn, MS, RHIA, CCS-P, FAHIMA  

Lynn is president of Kuehn Consulting, LLC, in Waukesha, WI. She has served on the AHIMA Board of Directors, is facilitator for several Communities of Practice, and co-authored AHIMA's coding text CPT/HCPCS Coding and Reimbursement for Physician Services.

Bill J. Rudman, PhD                              

William Rudman is a professor in the School of Health Related Professions and School of Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical center. Currently Dr. Rudman serves as the co-director for the Center of Health Informatics and Patient Safety. Dr. Rudman participates on several state and national committees in the area of health information management such as the EA HIT HISPC committees and the State of Mississippi’s Governors task force on HIT implementation. Dr. Rudman has 60 referred publications and has been involved in several multi-million dollar federal grants.

Heidi M. Shaffer, RHIA 

Heidi Shaffer is Health Services Project Coordinator for Mental Health Services of Behavior Health Services for the County of San Diego. She also works in the area of Web Referral , Telepsychiatry, and Remote Mobile Workforce for Case Management Staff. Heidi has been an active member of her local, state, and national health information management professional organization for 22 years and was most recently appointed  AHIMA PHR Practice Council.  She is Past President of California HIA and chaired the Annual AHIMA National Convention Committee for San Diego in 2005.

 

Donald W. Simborg, MD 

Donald W. Simborg, MD is the co-founder and current board member of HL7 and founding member of AMIA's College of Medical Informatics.  He founded and is the former CEO of two EHR companies and the author of over 100 articles and book chapters on a wide range of medical informatics topics. He has served as a member of the Computer Science and Telecommunications Board of the National Research Council, National Academy of Sciences.

 

Bing Y. Teng  

Bing Y. Teng is vice president, Practice Partner a business unit acquired by McKesson Provider Technologies in February 2007.  Bing is responsible for the business integration, sales, marketing, implementation and support of McKesson’s integrated scheduling, medical billing and electronic health record application for the ambulatory healthcare market.  Teng holds a bachelor’s degree in computer/electrical engineering from the University of Washington and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Ann M. Waters, RHIT, CCS  

Ann Waters, RHIT, CCS, is president of Innovative Coding & Documentation, a Mount Vernon, WA-based consulting firm. With more than 30 years of HIM experience, she provides HIM reviews to healthcare providers, including coding, documentation, and compliance, and also supplies contract coding services. Ann has held several Alaska HIMA board positions -- including president -- and in 2002 received their Distinguished Member award. Ann was on AHIMA’s ICD-10 Implementation Task Force; she previously served on AHIMA’s Coding Community Council and twice served as an AHIMA delegate. Ann started her four-year term as a commissioner for CAHIIM (the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education) in 2006 and served on AHIMA’s nominating committee in 2007.

Valerie J. Watzlaf, PhD, RHIA, FAHIMA  

Valerie is an associate professor of health information management at the University of Pittsburgh. She also holds a secondary appointment in the Graduate School of Public Health at Pitt. She has published extensively in the field of HIM and is the recipient of AHIMA's Research Award.  Dr. Watzlaf has chaired the Coding, Policy and Strategy Committee, the Council on Accreditation, all within AHIMA.  Her master's and doctoral degrees are in epidemiology earned from the University of Pittsburgh.

Julie Wolter, MA, RHIA

 

Julie Wolter, MA, RHIA, is an assistant professor in the Department of Health Informatics & Information Management at Saint Louis University.

She has published and presented on many HIM topics.  Most recently her interests have surrounded the personal health record (PHR) and consumer engagement.  Currently, Julie is co-Chair for the AHIMA PHR Practice Council and President of the Missouri Health Information Management Association. She is also very involved with the Community Education Campaign through AHIMA and she is the community education coordinator for the Missouri association.
