Q: Is my gift to FORE tax-deductible?

Yes, FORE is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization which means all donations that were made without receiving goods or services in return are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Q: Is my Not-So-Silent Auction puchase tax deductible?

A portion of it may be.  If the amount you paid for your auction item is greater than the stated fair market value of the item, then the differnce between fair market value and what you paid is a tax deductible contribution.  If you paid the equivalent or less than the fair market value of the item, your payment is not tax deductible.
