Sandra Nunn, MA, RHIA,CHP, has18 years experience as a system director of HIM in three different healthcare organizations, has worked on the development of a data warehouse, has served as an organizational privacy officer and has executed projects as a manager in information services.

Ms. Nunn built Presbyterian’s Enterprise Retention Schedule, developed an enterprise records strategy, and is creating a data governance structure for the electronic health record (EHR) that will integrate with enterprise data management functionality. She is a contributing editor for For the Record magazine and has served on the HIM editorial board for Aspen Publications. She also contributes columns on legal and IT topics to the Journal of AHIMA. She manages the PHS Enterprise Content Management effort, including development of the taxonomy (PHS Thesaurus) for the enterprise and leading the E-Discovery initiative in addition to working to develop a full Records and Retention Management team that will take Presbyterian compliantly into a completely electronic future. New projects extending through 2009 include the categorization and management of e-mail as records, both clinical and administrative e-mail content, and the development of the ability to manage the content of collaboration sites including Sharepoint workspaces.
