Michelle L. Dougherty, RHIA Manager, Practice Leadership, AHIMA |
Michelle L. Dougherty provides professional expertise to AHIMA members and outside organizations on health information practice issues and develops written products aimed at furthering the art and science of HIM. She also serves as coordinator and project manager for the Association's Long Term Care Taskforce and Legal Health Record Taskforce, as well as co-chair of the Medical Records/Information Management technical committee for HL-7.
Prior to joining AHIMA in 1999, Dougherty served as an HIM consultant in the Post-Acute Consulting Services Group of Minneapolis-based Larson, Allen, Weishair & Co., LLP. As a consultant, she provided health information, documentation, survey, prospective payment system (PPS), and compliance consulting services to long-term care, home care, and sub-acute facilities.
Dougherty holds a Bachelor of Arts in Health Information Administration from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN.
