Ann Zeisset, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P is manager of Professional Practice Resources for the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). In her role, Zeisset provides professional expertise to AHIMA members, the media, and outside organizations, on coding practice issues. She also authors and supports AHIMA online coding education, including the “Coding Basics” program, is a technical advisor for the association on ICD-9-CM, CPT, and ICD-10-CM/PCS coding publications. Zeisset has also authored several publications.
Prior to joining AHIMA in 1999, Zeisset served as director of Health Information/Utilization Management. Prior to this, Zeisset served in various coding roles, and has been an educator of coding and HIM for over 20 years at multiple colleges. Zeisset has authored many coding-related articles and has presented numerous seminars and educational sessions on coding and other HIM related topics throughout the United States including many for Home Health professionals. Zeisset recently completed a one year contract between the Foundation for Research and Education and CMS to determine potential impacts to CMS when converting from ICD-9-CM to ICD-10-CM/PCS coding systems. Zeisset is a frequent author and speaker on ICD-10-CM/PCS. Zeisset was also awarded the Distinguished Member award from SILHIMA in 2003 and the Certified Coding Specialist award in 2005.
Zeisset received a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership at Greenville College.
