Airline Transportation

You will be flying into the Orlando International Airport (MCO). Association Travel Concepts (ATC) is the official travel management company for the 2010 Convention & Exhibit. ATC is available for reservations from 9:00 am until 7:30 pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. Some restrictions may apply. Service fees apply.

ATC offers these cost saving options:

  • Up to 15 percent off applicable classes of service for tickets purchased more than 30 days prior to the meeting. Restrictions apply and not all classes of service apply for the 15 percent discount. (United) 5 percent off applicable classes of service for tickets purchased prior to the meeting. (American Airlines).
  • ATC will also search for the lowest available fare on ANY airline.

You get direct access to ATC online booking tools and live agents for discounted meeting travel. Simply log on to www.atcmeetings.com and click on “Meetings to Air - Meetings and Leisure (TravelASP).” When you register using the online booking tool please enter AHIMA in the Company or Organization or Association field. United Airlines   

United is offering special meeting discounts for AHIMA attendees. Call their Special Meeting Desk at (800) 521-4041 and refer to Meeting ID Number 510CK to receive a 2 – 10% discount off applicable fares, including First Class. If you purchase your ticket at least 30 days prior to travel, you will receive an additional 5% discount. This special offer applies to travel on domestic segments of all United Airlines, United Express, TED and United code share flights (UA*) operated by US Airways, US Airways Express and Air Canada. There are no fees for meeting attendees that call and confirm with the Special Meeting.

Taxis are available on both the A and B sides of the Main Terminal, on the Ground Transportation Level (Level) 1, at Commercial Lane parking spaces:

The approximate one-way taxi fare to the Gaylord Palms is $55 - $65.

Shuttles

Gaylord Palms Shuttle

A member of Mears Transportation can bring you directly from the Orlando International Airport to the Gaylord Palms as part of their 24-hour shuttle service to and from the airport. There is a fee for this service.

Disney's Magical Express

If you are staying at one of the Disney hotels that is part of the official AHIMA room block, they offer complimentary motor coach transportation and luggage transfer services from Orlando International Airport.  Travel time is approximately 45 to 75 minutes.  Shuttle reservations must be arranged with Disney prior to your arrival.

Area Attractions

Gaylord Palms is conveniently located in the heart of Central Florida and near dozens of spectacular theme parks and local attractions, including Walt Disney World® theme parks, SeaWorld®'s Discovery Cove, and Universal Orlando. Most attractions are located within several minutes from Gaylord Palms, and their staff is happy to assist with directions and transportation needs.

Complimentary scheduled shuttle bus service is available from the Palms to the Disney theme parks. Shuttles to SeaWorld, Universal Orlando, and Wet-n-Wild are $16* per person round-trip and must be booked through the Hotel Concierge at least 6 hours prior to pick up.

Guests may visit the Hotel Concierge for assistance with booking tickets online for SeaWorld, Universal Orlando, and Wet-n-Wild.
