82nd AHIMA Convention and Exhibit

The Not-So-Silent auction takes place each year at the AHIMA Annual Convention and runs over the course of three days. The Not-So-Silent auction supports the AHIMA Foundation Merit Scholarship program, and the 2009 event raised a record $31,265.  Through donations and bids from AHIMA Convention attendees, the Foundation was able to expand educational opportunities for outstanding undergraduate, graduate and advanced students pursuing their education in health information management and health information technology.  A total of 72 scholarships totaling $94,650 were awarded in 2010.

Donating to the Not-So-Silent Auction is easy!  Once you complete and submit your donor form, your spot will be reserved in the auction.  The AHIMA Foundation's Not-So-Silent Auction is a great opportunity to showcase your company, CSA, or Community of Practice; the auction provides a venue for individuals and organizations to give back to the Association, and pay it forward on behalf of upcoming professionals. Click here to a current list of the 2010 Not-So-Silent Auction Donors.

For your Not-So-Silent Auction donation you will receive:

  • Acknowledgement on the donated item's bid sheet(s)
  • Listing as an Auction donor in AHIMA Foundation's Annual Report
  • Listing on AHIMA's Convention Web Site and on the AHIMA Foundation's Web Site

Donations with a retail value of $300 or more will receive the above recognition, plus the following:

  • Your organization's booth # on the donated item's bid sheet
  • A link to your company's website from the auction listing on the AHIMA Foundation's website

If you are considering donating an item to the auction, not only will your donation help fund the education of future HIM professionals, it will also benefit your organization in the form of recognition and acknowledgement:

How do I ship my item to the Convention?

All auction items should be shipped to the AHIMA Show Management center at the address shown below.  Schedule delivery to arrive only between the dates of August 24th and September 17th.  As a reminder, in July the AHIMA Foundation will send all donors label(s) to affix to their shipments.

Shipping directly to the convention is only for a last resort; the likelihood of an auction item getting lost is much higher, and there will be extra loading dock fees.  However, if you miss the 8/24-9/17 delivery timeframe, then schedule your item to arrive directly to the convention center no earlier than September 24.
