Catherine Wakefield, CPA, FHFMA, CIA, CHC Vice President Corporate Compliance and Internal Audit, MultiCare Health System

Ms. Wakefield has over 25 years of healthcare finance experience and seven years clinical experience (dialysis specialty). She was a manager with Arthur Andersen and Company, specializing in healthcare audits, financial feasibility studies, and operations consulting.
 
Her hospital finance background includes positions in revenue management, and as controller, chief financial officer, compliance, and internal audit.  As CFO, she had administrative responsibility for financial accounting, patient financial services, information services, health information management, materials management, contracting, and registration functions. 

Ms. Wakefield is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, Health Care Compliance Association, Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors, Institute for Internal Auditors, and HealthCare Financial Management Association. 
 
She is a Board member for the WA/AK chapter of HFMA and was one of the recipients of the 2006 President’s Award for the chapter. She is co-chair for the Center for Ethical Development at Tacoma Community College.
