Mr. Ruth is responsible for consulting projects involving Health Information Management, including marketing and support of the Systematic Monitoring and Review Technique (SMART) system for coding quality improvement, CPT coding reviews, physician coding reviews, inservice education programs, review, preparation for regulatory surveys, and process improvement of health information management (HIM), quality management, case management, and patient access departments in hospitals. Since joining PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1995, he has been involved in a variety of healthcare engagements.
Mr. Ruth was the associate director of the Health Information Administration Program, C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, Brookville, NY, from 1987 through 1999. Prior to joining PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Ruth was the Senior Vice President of a Long Island-based hospital consulting firm and was responsible for hospital management consulting projects, client inservice, and employee training, policy development, and quality control.
Mr. Ruth has over 20 years experience in acute care hospitals, having previously served as the assistant administrator, associate administrator, and executive director of a Long Island acute care hospital.
