Kathryn DeVault, RHIA, CCS Professional Practice Manager AHIMA

Kathy DeVault provides professional expertise to AHIMA members, the media, and outside organizations on professional practice issues. She also authors and supports AHIMA online coding education, including the AHIMA Coding Basics program. DeVault also serves as a technical advisor for the association on ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, and CPT coding publications.
 
Prior to joining AHIMA in 2008, DeVault served as data quality analyst for coding in a regional healthcare system. She has been a coding educator the past six years at a local community college. She has presented numerous seminars and educational sessions on coding and HIM-related topics.
 
DeVault also serves as a facilitator of the several online Communities of Practice, including the Coding Community Council Community.
