With the ARRA emphasis on the use of electronic health records, the healthcare industry continues to become more data-driven, making Health Data Analysts more valuable than ever. Individuals who earn the CHDA designation will achieve recognition of their expertise in health data analysis and validation of their mastery of this domain. The CHDA workshop is an extensive 2 day in-person meeting designed to prepare the HIM professional to sit for the examination. Faculty will focus on in-class in-depth examples and exercises, while reviewing the 3 domains covered in the exam:
- Domain 1: Data Management
- Domain 2: Data Analytics
- Domain 3: Data Reporting
Objectives for the workshop include:
- Help prepare potential candidates to sit for the CHDA certification exam
- Apply knowledge of how to interpret analytical findings for clinical, financial, and operational recommendations.
- Validate results through qualitative and quantitative analysis
- Demonstrate the expertise needed to generate routine and ad-hoc reports using internal and external data sources
- Review the development and maintenance of data architecture and data structures to support business needs
Requirements needed to sit for CHDA:
- Associate’s degree and minimum of five (5) years of healthcare data experience
- Healthcare information management credential (RHIT) and minimum of three (3) years of healthcare data experience
- Baccalaureate degree and a minimum of three (3) years of healthcare data experience/li>
- Healthcare information management credential (RHIA) and minimum of one (1) year of healthcare data experience
- Master's or related degree (JD, MD, or PhD) and one (1) year of healthcare data experience
