As the sponsor of several certifications, AHIMA has the experience and credibility to offer certifications for the healthcare industry.

Independent Testing Agency
Thomson Prometric is a global leader in test development, technology-enabled testing and assessment services for academic, professional, government, corporate and information technology markets. Prometric is under contract with AHIMA to help develop, administer, and score AHIMA's examinations.
Nondiscrimination Policy
AHIMA does not discriminate against any applicant on the basis of race, color, creed, age, sex, national origin, religion, disability, marital status, parental status, ancestry, sexual orientation, military discharge status, or source of income. All applicants for the examinations are judged on the basis of the published criteria established by the CCHIIM.
Confidentiality Procedure
AHIMA and Prometric have adopted policies and procedures to protect the confidentiality of examination candidates. Prometric and AHIMA staff will not discuss pending applications with anyone but the applicant. In addition, examination scores will not be reported via telephone, e-mail, or fax.
Refunds
Examination refunds take 6-8 weeks to process.
