RHIA Job Analysis

To fulfill aspects of its credentialing mission, AHIMA contracted with Thomson Prometric to conduct a job analysis in 2004 to ensure that the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification program reflects the most important and current practices in the work performed by RHIAs.

The RHIA Competency Statements developed as a result of the 2004 job analysis became effective on October 1, 2005.
