Carlyn Doyle, MSHI, RHIA, CHPS, HCISPP, is the 2018 Chair for AHIMA's Commission on Certification for Health Informatics and Health Information Management (CCHIIM). Carlyn works for Multnomah County in Portland, Oregon as a Senior IT Security Compliance Analyst and lead investigator for information security incidents and breaches. In addition, Carlyn also conducts information security risk assessments for the departments IS risk management program. Carlyn transferred to Multnomah County's IT Department from Multnomah County Department of Human Services where she served as the departments Privacy and Policy Coordinator. Carlyn has worked for a Health Information Exchange (HIE) and the Regional Extension Center (REC) in Las Vegas, Nevada where she was the Sr Privacy/Security Project Coordinator and Lead for the HIE's PS Steering Committee, Cross-functional Consent Workgroup, and was the subject matter expert for HIPAA compliance requirements for the Meaningful Use (MU) incentive program. Carlyn has extensive experience with HIPAA, other Federal privacy regulations, and implementing Privacy and Security Management programs. She has a Master’s of Science degree in Health Informatics from the University of Illinois, Chicago; is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA); is Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS); and is certified as a Healthcare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISPP). Carlyn is an active participant with AHIMA’s Privacy and Security Practice Council and AHIMA’s Standards Task Force Committee.
