Liz Wilson, RHIT, CDIP, CCS, CPC, CRC, CEMC, CPMA, CPCO, CHC
Liz Wilson, RHIT, CDIP, CCS, CPC, CRC, CEMC, CPMA, CPCO, CHC, began her career in HIM as an internal coding auditor at a local hospital in Lewiston, NY where she implemented and achieved a coding accuracy outcome of over 95% in one year. She then served as the Coding Director for a billing company. Her responsibilities included conducting audits, furnishing provider education, and managing compliance services before accepting the position of Corporate Compliance Officer. Recently, she developed and implemented a corporate compliance program that now includes QI, UM, Medical Auditing and CDI.
Liz had served as a NYHIMA delegate in 2015, VP of the AAPC Buffalo Chapter in 2015, and President in 2016. She is credited with developing and instituting the first AAPC Approved Official Extern Site in Buffalo, NY. Liz served as an AHIMA Code-Check® team member through 2017 and continues to teach medical auditing NAMAS students. Liz was the 2010 recipient of NYHIMA’s Outstanding Achievement Award and was a guest speaker at NYHIMA’s annual conference in June 2017. She publishes an E/M pocket guide annually since 2013 and was recently selected by AHIMA to serve a three-year term as CCHIIM Commissioner. Her greatest reward is the satisfaction of preparing her students, her staff and her customers for success.
