Putting You in Touch with Select Niche Markets

Buyers Guides in the Journal of AHIMA highlight a specific area within the HIM field. Bound directly into the publication in special sections, listings in the Buyers Guides are perfect supplements to display advertising. Furthermore, Buyers Guide advertisers are included in the AHIMA online vendor directory, part of AHIMA's popular Web site. Buyers Guides for 2008 include:

  • Consulting and Outsourcing—Temporary staffing, compliance consulting, survey preparation, training, systems and technology support, interim management, MPI clean-up—this guide gives HIM service providers maximum exposure in an expanding market.
  • Transcription—Designed for resources, from personnel to equipment, that support transcription and dictation.
  • Coding—Dedicated to coding and abstracting products and services including reference items, compliance support, and education and training, among others.
  • Software—Highlights all applications for the collection, storage, maintenance, and analysis of patient data including DRG optimization, encoding, imaging, disease management, and much more.

Strategic Positioning
Save 20 percent on your Buyers Guide listing when you purchase a display ad in the same issue.

Guide Submissions: All guide ads are black and white, at the advertiser's choosing. All text and images must be black and white. Ads created by the advertisers must be submitted as: QuarkXpress 6.0 or lower; Adobe InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator CS2 or lower; or FreeHand 8 or lower saved in EPS or TIF format. Include all screen and printer fonts. PDFs should be created to Adobe Acrobat PDF/X-1a, with 133-line screen, 300 dpi, with all fonts and images embedded. Images must be gray scale.

Advertisers may also submit raw text and logo and request that their ads be created. Full-page listings contain approximately 650 words, half pages contain 325 words. Word count for 1/9-page ads cannot exceed 75 words. Submit text in Microsoft Word or generic text format. At a minimum, please provide company name, phone, fax, e-mail, and Web address (contact information is not included in the word counts above.) Logos must be submitted as 300-dpi images or EPS vector file. Buyers Guides offer a single basic design, with company logo at the top and straight text following. Please be certain to provide final copy and logo: no proofs will be provided. A design fee will be charged for any requested alteration to submitted material, such as corrections to type or color conversions of logos. Minimum alteration charge is $75.

Page and half-page ads will be placed first, in as close to alphabetical order as the layout allows. All 1/9-page ads will be placed in alphabetical order in the second half of the guide.
