AHIMA Elected Groups

- Commission on Certification for Health Informatics and Information Management (The 2013 CCHIIM ballot positions have not been confirmed. Please check back for updates.)
The required materials needed for the “elected” groups are:

Nominations for the "elected positions of President/Chair-Elect, Director and CCHIIM Commissioners are due via the Application to Serve by January 31, 2013. The 2012 process is now closed.

AHIMA Appointed Groups
Various AHIMA Committees, Task Forces, Practice Councils and e-HIM Workgroups
The AHIMA Volunteer Groups tend to be committees, councils etc. that exist for a year or more. Within the volunteer groups there appointed positions that are filled with volunteers who applied through the Application to Serve, as well as recommendations from AHIMA staff and other volunteers. The members are selected between August 1st and late October of the calendar year prior to when the volunteer term would begin. It is recommended to apply through the Application to Serve before August 1st. Other groups are formed shorter-term through the year, and all volunteer opportunities are communicated through the e-Alert and CoP.
Please note for appointed positions all applications from this time forward are now for 2013.

Core competencies for all volunteers:
- Adheres to and advocates for the AHIMA Code of Ethics and any other appropriate codes of conduct, values honesty, integrity and transparency.
- Demonstrates commitment to the mission, vision, values and strategy of the entity (AHIMA, AHIMA Foundation, CAHIIM, CCHIIM, and/or CSA)
- Is a team player/collaborator, works well on teams, fosters trust among group members, and adjusts behavior in order to establish relationships with team.
- Completes assigned duties and tasks.
- Respects diversity and fosters inclusion, values all kinds and classes of people equitably.
- Deals effectively with all races, cultures, disabilities, ages, and genders. Ensures all voices are listened to and respected. Diversity & Inclusion
- Will wait for others to catch up before acting and is sensitive to due process and proper pacing.
