Quote from ACE Member
Carol Thomas, MA, RHIA, CCS, comments on why she became an ACE member. Thomas says, “I feel that being an ACE member allows me to pass on the knowledge that I have acquired in my 30 years in the field. In addition, I benefit by learning from those I instruct and mentor. Through the ACE program, I have the opportunity share my knowledge. I recently completed the assessment to become a certified ICD-10 trainer which hopefully will allow me to pass that knowledge on as well.”

How Do I Join?
There are two ways to participate in ACE: nominate a colleague or nominate yourself. The first step is selecting the link to the left or the appropriate button below.
When nominating a colleague, you’ll be asked to provide a summary of why they are being nominated.
When self-nominating, a self-assessment must be completed, which identifies relevant educational and professional development opportunities. This important step enables you to assess your experience and skills through a personalized gap analysis and should take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
Self-assessment Objectives
o Identify readiness to become an ACE member
o Match opportunities to transform HIM practice leveraging your interests and skills
o Identify professional growth opportunities
Upon completing the self-assessment, you may be accepted as an ACE member, and a brief, personal commitment statement details the expectations. Alternatively, areas for skill development and growth may be identified, and you may be encouraged to consider joining after completing professional development activities. Many growth opportunities and resources can be accessed in the Professional Development section of the assessment. Examples of growth activities include joining the Leadership/Executive Skills Cop and participating in AHIMA's Leadership Academy.
Self-nominate and take the self-assessment, or nominate an expert.
