The Time to Prepare is Now ICD-10 Superbills: Sample 1 Sample 2

It is now more than two years since the final rule was released. This means we are at the halfway point for ICD-10-CM/PCS implementation, and you should be halfway through your planning and implementation activities. If you aren't, it's definitely time to catch up! And if you are already well into your implementation, great job - and keep it up.

AHIMA's Role-Based Training model identifies key tasks or milestones that must be completed within specific timeframes by specific organizations and in some cases specific roles within organizations. It is organized first by healthcare entity, then by roles, enabling you to focus on your setting and role and then identify the important milestones and action items to help inform your planning. The model identifies not only what you need to do and by when, but also links to suggested resources to help you accomplish these steps.
In order to be successful, we must all be moving forward now with ICD-10-CM/PCS planning and implementation. We are experiencing a challenging - and exciting - time in healthcare as we prepare to catch up with the rest of the world in using modern classification systems to improve the capture of healthcare information. Implementation of ICD-10-CM/PCS will advance healthcare by producing better data needed for quality measurement, public health, research, organizational monitoring and performance, and reimbursement. It is imperative to move forward diligently and steadily with implementation planning and preparation activities. Why You Should Not Delay.
